Welcome to Stitch Bridgend Sewing School
Hello and a big warm welcome! I’m Gemma, the tutor behind Stitch Bridgend. I’m a professional dancer turned seamstress and have been sewing and teaching full-time for nearly 18 years. What began as one small class of local mums has grown into a thriving sewing school with over 12,500 students in 2025, offering weekly classes, intensive courses, and online tuition. My mission is simple: to show people just how easy, affordable, and fun sewing can be while building friendships along the way.
A Little About Me
I was lucky enough to be shortlisted for the very first BBC Great British Sewing Bee, and over the years my work has been featured in Made by Rae, Homemaker Magazine, Love Quilting, The Buddy Magazine, and many more. Now, through Stitch Bridgend, I’m proud to teach people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them discover the joy of sewing in a supportive, friendly environment.
